2002 Annual General Meeting

The Federation AGM for 2002 will be held on Saturday 9 November at the Betty Campbell Centre in Wellington. This will be preceded by the Federation’s executive meeting on Friday 8 November evening and morning of the 9th. It is hoped that a seminar or similar may be arranged for the Sunday but at this stage no detail has been finalised.

Federation Website

The webmaster has reported that since last November there has been approximately 1000 hits on the website. It was also noted that a number of pages are showing outdated programmes. A small number of societies have still not provided any information and are urged to avail themselves of the service.

Federation Dues

Would societies that have not as yet paid their dues to Federation please urgently correct the situation.

Incorporated Societies

Secretaries of incorporated societies are advised to check their registered address is current. The Companies Office requires the registered address be a physical address.

New Zealand National Philatelic Trust

The trustees have approved the following grants since our last report.

$15,000  to Northpex 2002 (ex NZ Post)
$1,500  to Bryan Ogier for FIAP meeting in Chiang Mai
$2,000  for Federation news in the New Zealand Stamp Collector
$500  grant plus $1,000 suspensory loan to PYC for the 2002 Stamp Camp.
$1350  Wellington Regional Stamp Show

Exhibition Notes

Commissioners

Exhibition commissioners can possible expect more problems in relation to carrying excess baggage to overseas exhibitions in future. Sue McIntosh, commissioner to Canberra, reported it was impossible to obtain any excess allowance for the exhibits she carried to the exhibition and this appears to be the trend with most airlines. Exhibitors are likely to find themselves having to contribute toward the excess baggage costs commissioners have to pay.
