Results from the NZ Interclub One-Frame competition 2010

Seven clubs entered this year, with the results as follows:
Waikato Philatelic Society (375 points)
Christchurch Philatelic Society (348)
Marlborough Stamp Collectors Club (335)
NZ Stamp Collectors Club (318)
Manawatu Philatelic Society (293)
Horowhenua Philatelic Society (268)

Well done to all these clubs, and especially to the new exhibitors. Where were the rest of the clubs?

The Blenpex 2012 Challenge

Marlborough is said to be the ‘gourmet province’ of NZ, so to celebrate the committee of Blenpex 2012 have issued a ‘gourmet challenge.’ The rules are simple:

  • one frame of 16 pages which can cover any philatelic class
  • theme must be around fish, meat, beer, fruit, wine, sweets etc or anything fit for human consumption
  • entry is on the standard Blenpex entry form
  • it is envisaged the judging will be by a chef, a winemaker and a philatelist; and
  • there will be prizes!
Judges Update

Two judging schools have recently been held for those on the national list of judges and apprentices. Particular attention was paid to the writing of critiques. Just a reminder that Judges from the national list should be used at all philatelic competitions above club level.

Modern Traditional Experimental Class

The CPS100 exhibition will be offering this new philatelic class to encourage those with modern material to develop an entry. The entry may consist of issues from and including 1963 onwards. The idea is to see if exhibitors can qualify for this new class at the international exhibition, Australia 2013. More later.
